When can I expect to receive my pup?

Great question!  Our pups are around 2.5 months of age when we post/upload them onto our sites.  Depending on where you live (country), there are specific age and health requirements that must be met.  For example, in order for a pup to enter Canada, the pup must be at least 4 months of age and must be accompanied by a certified health examination.  Regulations vary from country to country. Please check with us for more information.

Once the it is feasible for the pup to fly, we will make flight arrangements and begin the necessary documentation (including health examinations and necessary vaccinations).  This can be anywhere from 2-3 weeks prior to the flight.

If you are an international client (or outside of Ontario), please consult with us regarding shipping timeframes.

If you are a local client (within Ontario), this will be the same, unless we have the pup on hand.

Please contact us for more information.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, you will experience a delay in receiving your puppy.  Flight restrictions are beyond our control and we will do our best to make flight arrangements accordingly.  Note that we CANNOT guarantee at this time, the date of delivery.

COVID-19 (updated on Jan.18/22):

Due to the ongoing pandemic, please be cognizant and exercise patient while we work with our IATA/IPATA and airline partners to safely fly your puppy to you in Toronto.  This DOES NOT necessarily affect your reservation (existing reservations only).  Please contact us for more details.

DO YOU HAVE PUPPIES AVAILABLE TO SEE IN PERSON?

We normally do have puppies available to see in person!  However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, our pups will remain in our kennels in Korea until they are ready to find their forever home.  As we own each and every puppy, all will be Toronto-bound if not reserved by the time the puppy arrives into Toronto.  The puppy will then be made available to view in person to our local clients.  Availability will vary based on demand and reservations.  Please contact us for details and availability.

WHAT IS A TEACUP PUPPY?

The term "Teacup" is an adjective used to describe a puppy that is smaller than the the average or 'standard' sized puppy of the same breed.  Although this term is not officially recognized by the CKC/AKC, it accurately describes the smaller-than-average body size - so petite that the puppy can fit into a teacup, hence the term was coined "teacup" puppy.  Oftentimes, the terms "teacup" and "toy" will be used interchangeably, depending on the specific breed and the size of the puppy when it is full-grown.

Due to the increasing popularity of these miniature breeds, there is an alarming number of unscrupulous "breeders" who practice irresponsible, unethical breeding, often running "puppy mills".  Across the world, hundreds of thousands of puppies are irresponsibly bred each year, with the sole purpose of making a profit at the expense of the dogs' welfare.  When choosing your puppy, make sure to work with a reputable, ethical and responsible breeder.  Remember, a responsible breeder will be happy to answer any questions you may have and will be able to provide you with all of the necessary information to make an informed decision.

How long do they live?

A teacup puppy has a similar life expectancy as their larger counterparts. As with any living creature, this is highly dependent on its upkeep, diet, care, genetics, and most importantly, the individual.  Our puppies will come vaccinated, dewormed and with health examinations by a licensed veterinarian.

How big do they get?

The weight and size will vary from breed to breed, and individual to individual.  Be sure to work with your veterinarian to work out a suitable lifestyle and nutrition plan.  Peppa Pups is not responsible for differences in projected or estimated weight at maturity or "size" vs. actual size at maturity.  Proper exercise, diet and well-being are crucial in maintaining a healthy weight.

Are teacup pups healthy?

MYTH: Teacup pups are prone to many health issues - this is absolutely true of not just teacup pups, but ANY pet, when they are unethically bred and raised in poor, unsterile conditions.  We strive to ensure that all of our pups are healthy, well-bred, and most importantly, cared for and raised in a clean, warm and loving environment.

Is a teacup pup right for me?

A teacup pup is perfect for anyone looking for:

  • a pint-sized, furry friend with a big heart

  • a travel companion (they're so small you can fit them in your bag!)

  • a pet suitable for smaller spaces

  • the perfect gift

  • a kid-friendly pup

  • a playmate for your other fur pal(s)

I (or someone that lives in the same household) has allergies.  Is this something I should be concerned about?

Certain breeds are considered hypoallergenic (no/low shedding) and others may cause allergies to flare up.  Please consult your physician to see if a puppy (and which breed) is the right pet for you.

From the breeds that we specialize in, you may wish to consider either a Maltese, Maltipoo or a Poodle.  These breeds are considered hypoallergenic and non-shedding.
